Smart Fashion 'FLEX' by Dr Jeanne Tan's Group and Prof Zheng Zijian's Team

The smart fashion 'FLEX' based on interactive POF fabrics developed by Dr. Jeanne Tan's group and flexible batteries developed by Prof. Zheng Zijian's team, at the Institute of Textiles & Clothing, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  The illuminative textile’s interactive function merge aesthetics and functionality, providing customizable options for users . The interactive POF textiles can  integrate into everyday lifestyles with tactile familiarity,  lightness, flexibility and washability.  The flexible lithium batteries are developed by Prof. Zheng Zijian’s group under the financial support of Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA). The flexible lithium batteries adopt novel textile composite electrodes, which offer excellent mechanical flexibility and electrochemical stability to the battery, while providing competitive energy density to that of commercial lithium-ion batteries.
